Inspirational Message at VIT STARS Freshers Induction-2024
Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) hosted the ‘Support the Advancement of Rural Students (STARS) Freshers Induction-2024’ programme, featuring prominent figures such as Dr. P. Veeramuthuvel, ISRO Project Director of Chandrayaan-3; Mr. J. Sujith Kumar, Founder & Managing Trustee of Maatram Foundation; and Dr. G. Viswanathan, Founder and Chancellor of VIT.
Addressing the freshers, Dr. P. Veeramuthuvel emphasized the paramount importance of hard work, discipline, and consistency for achieving success in life. "There is no substitute for hard work," he remarked, urging students to put in their best efforts. He also highlighted the value of resilience, particularly in transforming failures into success, sharing insights from the challenges faced during the Chandrayaan-3 mission.
Mr. J. Sujith Kumar encouraged students to express gratitude towards their parents for their educational opportunities and to serve as role models. Dr. G. Viswanathan called upon the Centre and State governments to enhance educational spending, asserting that countries investing more in education ultimately achieve developed status.
The event saw participation from VIT Vice Presidents Sankar Viswanathan and G. V. Selvam, Vice Chancellor V. S. Kanchana Bhaaskaran, Pro-Vice Chancellor Partha Sharathi Mallick, Registrar T. Jayabarathi, and STARS coordinators S. Meenakshi and K. Govardhan.
