Breaking News: Meghalaya BJP Unveils Dynamic Candidate List for KHADC and JHADC Elections – A Game-Changer for Northeast!
Shillong: The Meghalaya Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its first set of candidates for the forthcoming elections to the Khasi and Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Councils (KHADC and JHADC). This initial list includes 17 candidates, with 14 contesting for seats in the KHADC and the remaining 3 for the JHADC.
BJP State General Secretary, Wankitbok Pohshna, has assured that a second list of candidates is expected to be released soon. The party is strategically focusing on critical constituencies in Ri-Bhoi, East Jaintia Hills, South West Khasi Hills, and Shillong city. “This is our most extensive participation in the district council elections to date,” Pohshna said, expressing confidence that this move will reinforce the party’s influence within the councils and garner public support for its candidates.
In addition to unveiling its candidates, the BJP is poised to release its manifesto, which will emphasize enhancing the powers and functions of the district councils.
The 14 candidates for the KHADC include: Himanta Timung (Jirang), Manin Raja (Nongpoh), Hopingstone Marsharing (Mawhati), Brightstarfield Khongwir (Umsning), Councellor Mukhim (Mawkynrew), Elvisstar Kharbudon (Langkyrdem Laitkroh), Ebren Khongthah (Nongshken), Fairlock D Ryngksai (Nongthymmai), Kynsaibor Lyngdoh (Malki Laitumkhrah), Daniella Nonglait (Mawlai), Lewis Janong Sooting (Langrin), Dimandar Lyngdoh (Nongstoin), Dominic Wahlang (Rambrai Jyrngam), and Roland Mawsor (Mawshynrut).
For the JHADC, the candidates are Heimonmitre Phawa (Jowai South), Manbha Lyngdoh (Muthlong Sohkympor), and Shanbor Rymbai (Musniang Rangad).
As the elections approach, all eyes are on how the BJP’s strategy and forthcoming manifesto will perform in the crucial district council elections.
