Unveiling Arunachal’s Safe Haven: Experience Peace of Mind with Tawang’s Advanced CCTV Monitoring
In a strategic effort to enhance security in Tawang’s bustling markets, Deputy Commissioner Kanki Darang inaugurated a sophisticated CCTV surveillance network at Nehru Market today. This cutting-edge system now provides comprehensive coverage from the Nehru Market tri-junction to the Old Market tri-junction, effectively placing Tawang’s three main markets under vigilant watch.
The inauguration was graced by prominent figures, including Deputy Superintendent of Police Tasso Kato, Nehru Market Bazar Secretary Tsangpa Tashi, members of the Bazar Welfare Committee, and local police officials. This initiative, led by DC Tawang, was implemented under the expertise of District Information Technology Officer Tenzin Phuntsok and funded through the DC Untied Fund. It builds on prior efforts from April 2023, when CCTV systems were first installed in Old Market and parts of New Market. Plans are in progress to extend this surveillance network to other parts of New Market as well.
Bazar Secretary Tsangpa Tashi and the Bazar Welfare Committee lauded the initiative, underlining its significance in enhancing public safety. Deputy Superintendent Kato pointed out the system’s practical advantages, mentioning a recent theft case that was resolved with the help of CCTV footage sourced from both public and private cameras.
