The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board has announced the exam dates for the recruitment of 60,244 constable posts in the civil police. The written exams, which serve as the basis for direct recruitment, are scheduled for August 23, 24, 25, and August 30, 31. Each day will feature two exam shifts, accommodating approximately 5 lakh candidates per shift.

This rescheduled recruitment exam follows directives from the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister to ensure integrity and transparency. Detailed guidelines released on June 19 outline the protocols for test center selection, exam preparations, candidate verification, and measures against impersonation. These steps are designed to maintain the fairness and transparency of the selection process.

The initiative comes in response to recent allegations of irregularities and paper leaks in the NEET UG medical entrance exam. Consequently, the Uttar Pradesh Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Ordinance-2024 (Ordinance No. 6 of 2024) was issued. This ordinance imposes severe penalties for exam malpractices, including fines up to one crore rupees and life imprisonment.

Additionally, the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation has arranged free bus services for candidates attending the exam. To use this service, candidates must download two additional copies of their admit card to present to the bus conductor.

These measures collectively underscore the Uttar Pradesh government’s commitment to conducting fair and transparent recruitment exams for the constable posts, ensuring the highest standards.
