Empowering Leadership: Unveiling Union Minister G Kishan Reddy’s Transformative Vision
Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy highlighted the Government’s commitment to cultural unity and development alongside infrastructure, economic growth, and agriculture. Addressing the media in New Delhi, Reddy emphasized the pivotal role that India’s linguistic diversity plays in the nation’s unity and cultural heritage.
India boasts a remarkable variety of languages, with 121 prominent languages and around 1600 dialects. Reddy underscored that languages serve as more than mere communication tools; they are vital carriers of the nation’s rich knowledge, culture, and traditions. In recognition of this, the Union Government is actively pursuing initiatives to preserve and protect these languages and dialects, acknowledging their significance as mediums for empowerment and personal expression.
In a major step this October, the Union Cabinet awarded classical language status to Marathi, Pali, Prakrit, Assamese, and Bengali, further cementing the importance of linguistic heritage. Reddy proudly noted that India stands alone globally in granting classical language status to 11 languages, reflecting its deep respect for linguistic diversity and cultural preservation.
