Breaking: Authorities Triumph with Arrest of 5 Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Militants in Assam – Major Win for Peace in Guwahati
Security forces in New Delhi have successfully intercepted a significant terrorist plan, arresting five members of the prohibited Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) in Assam. The Assam police revealed that four operatives were apprehended in Kokrajhar district, while the fifth was detained in Dhubri district. This action follows the capture of a Bangladeshi national who illegally crossed the international border. Assam’s Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, announced on social media platform X that vigilant efforts along the border led to the arrest and deportation of Asma Akther, marking over 160 such deportations from Assam. In response to the continuous unrest in neighboring Bangladesh, authorities have intensified surveillance along the 1,885 km India-Bangladesh border in the northeast, ensuring heightened security and vigilance.
