Bernard’s Bold Initiative: Transforming Central Schemes with Revolutionary Campaign Evaluation

SHILLONG, July 21: State BJP vice president and Tura MDC, Bernard N Marak, has launched an initiative titled “Centre Scheme Pass or Fail,” aimed at evaluating the implementation of central government schemes in Meghalaya. The campaign empowers citizens to assess the effectiveness of these schemes, leading to possible legal reviews.

Marak highlighted that the initiative allows the public to determine whether the state government’s execution of the central schemes is successful or not. He asserted, “This is significant because the public is often misled to believe that the Centre selectively provides partial payments, whereas political leaders have actually manipulated and hijacked the schemes for partisan benefits.”

The campaign focuses on educating people about their entitlements and scrutinizing the actual implementation of these schemes with tangible proof. Marak recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced over 200 schemes aimed at benefiting the poor and youth. However, many villagers still lack basic amenities.

“We are conducting a survey of central schemes in Gambegre ahead of the by-election and found substantial political manipulation. Some departments submitted false reports of unfinished projects to the central government,” Marak added.

He alleged that essential services like water, housing, toilets, roads, free rice, wages, quality education, and medical facilities remain inaccessible to many, despite being provisioned by the central government for public welfare. Marak claimed that the actual conditions fail to meet Prime Minister Modi’s envisioned benefits.

Marak further asserted, “People have been misled to think the Centre did not provide these basic schemes when it is the state departments that have largely failed to act and violated scheme guidelines.”

He concluded by stating, “We are addressing these issues with the central government and concerned departments. Potential legal steps may follow based on complaints received from villagers. The schemes provided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi are a national asset, and it is our responsibility to ensure their proper implementation.”

This campaign is expected to shed light on the discrepancies and ensure welfare schemes reach their intended beneficiaries.
