Discover the Queer Movie Sensation: Find Out When It Hits Your Favorite OTT Streaming Platform!
Luca Guadagnino’s eagerly awaited film “Queer,” adapted from William S. Burroughs’ novel, is not yet available for home streaming, leaving fans in anticipation. While garnering praise during its limited theatrical run, the film is set to hit major streaming platforms later. “Queer” explores the life of William Lee, portrayed by Daniel Craig, an American expatriate in 1950s Mexico City. His world shifts with the arrival of a young student, Eugene Allerton, played by Drew Starkey. The cast also features Lesley Manville and Jason Schwartzman. Filmed at the iconic Cinecittà Studios and with additional scenes in Quito, Ecuador, the film’s captivating story and Guadagnino’s distinct visual flair have already drawn acclaim.
Premiering at the Venice International Film Festival, “Queer” made waves at both the New York Film Festival and the BFI London Film Festival, further building its reputation for rich storytelling and exceptional performances. Its theatrical release commences in select New York and Los Angeles theaters on November 27, 2024, with a nationwide rollout planned for December 13. Although a streaming date is not confirmed, the film will eventually be accessible on home screens.
In a significant development, A24 secured a multi-year output deal with Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) in 2023, paving the way for its films, including “Queer,” to stream on HBO and Max. While the exact date for its streaming debut remains unspecified, “Queer” is slated to arrive on Max following its theatrical window.
For now, audiences are encouraged to experience “Queer” in cinemas. Fans eager to watch from home must wait for its eventual digital release, as the film makes its way through theaters first. Stay tuned for updates on its streaming availability.
