Riyan Parag Earns Maiden ODI Call for Indian Cricket Team

GUWAHATI: Riyan Parag has been selected for his first One Day International (ODI) appearance with Team India for the upcoming three-match series against Sri Lanka in 2024. Additionally, Parag has been included in the T20I squad.

The men’s selection committee announced Team India’s squads for both formats on Thursday, July 18. India is scheduled to play three T20Is and three ODIs during their tour of Sri Lanka. The T20I matches are set to take place in Pallekele from July 27 to July 30, while the ODIs will be held in Colombo starting August 2.

Big-hitting batter Suryakumar Yadav has been named captain of India’s T20 team. Meanwhile, ODI captain Rohit Sharma and star batsman Virat Kohli are included in the 50-over series squad. Shubman Gill will serve as vice-captain for both formats.

Riyan Parag’s selection follows his impressive performance in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, where he scored seven half-centuries. Also joining the ODI squad is Delhi speedster Harshit Rana.
