Mumbai, Nov 9: Renowned choreographer and filmmaker Farah Khan recently disclosed a fascinating anecdote from her filmmaking journey during an interview with comedian Zakir Khan. While working on her hit film “Happy New Year,” she turned down a tempting offer from a producer willing to pay her Rs. 10 crore to cast his son. Demonstrating her integrity and commitment to her art, Farah chose Vivaan Shah, son of acting stalwarts Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna Pathak Shah, for the role instead. She stressed that her decision was driven by her passion for the project and staying true to the film’s vision. Farah stated, “Being a ‘Jhansi Ki Rani,’ I said, ‘I will never do this.’ I won’t do injustice to the film.”
“Happy New Year,” featuring an ensemble cast including Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood, Vivaan Shah, and Boman Irani, was Farah’s most successful directorial venture, emerging as one of the top-grossing films of the year.
