In a swift and violent sequence of events, two shooting incidents occurred in northeast Delhi, resulting in one fatality and another injured, according to police reports on November 9, 2024. Around 1 a.m., suspects opened fire on a man in Welcome’s Kabir Nagar, seizing his scooter and then riding to nearby Jyoti Nagar, where they fired shots at a residence. The first incident left Nadeem (alias Bobby) fatally wounded and Shahnawaz injured. The assailants, suspected to have had a financial dispute involving ₹10,000 with Nadeem, are believed to have targeted him, inadvertently harming Shahnawaz, who was nearby. The police, who found a motorcycle abandoned at the first scene and a scooter at the second, have apprehended the three suspects. Both incidents have been registered as separate cases in the respective police stations, and further investigations are underway to determine the precise motives behind the shootings. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (northeast), Rakesh Paweriya, confirmed the ongoing interrogation of the suspects as the community remains on alert.
