Dhubri, Assam – In a significant development, a notorious cattle smuggler, Sirajul Haque, was injured during police action at Golakganj along the Indo-Bangladesh border late Wednesday night. Haque, a most-wanted figure in the region’s cattle smuggling operations, was apprehended in a swift operation by law enforcement.
According to sources, the incident escalated when Haque physically assaulted a police officer and attempted to escape custody while being transported to Gaikhowa. The situation forced the officers to open fire, resulting in Haque suffering serious injuries. He was immediately rushed to Dhubri Medical College Hospital for urgent medical care.
