Shocking Attack: Suspected Militants Devastate Village Leader’s Farmhouses in Jiribam District
Two vacant farmhouses in Manipur’s Jiribam district were set on fire late Saturday night, October 19. The properties, owned by L. Somorendro, the head of Hilghat Gram Panchayat, were reportedly targeted by suspected militants in the Nungkhal area.
Security forces responded promptly to secure the site and commence a detailed investigation. Authorities are actively working to uncover the motive behind the attack and identify those responsible, though further details have yet to be made public.
This arson incident followed another attack earlier the same day near Borobekra police station. Militants detonated explosives in a nearby village, leading to a gunfight with security personnel. Fortunately, there were no casualties in this confrontation.
