Renowned filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani received the prestigious National Kishore Kumar Award in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, on the 37th death anniversary of the legendary singer and actor Kishore Kumar. The award, bestowed by the Madhya Pradesh Government’s Directorate of Culture since 1997, celebrates eminent artists from the Indian film industry. Often awarded to prominent figures in Bollywood, the accolade was presented by Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah.
Khandwa holds special significance as the birthplace of Kishore Kumar, and before the award ceremony, Hirani paid his respects at the Samadhi of the celebrated artist.
