RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat’s Fiery Critique: Urgent Call for Laws to Combat Disgusting OTT Content
RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat criticized OTT platforms for promoting “distorted propaganda” and “poor values,” claiming they negatively impact India’s youth. Speaking at the annual Vijayadashami rally in Nagpur, Bhagwat expressed concerns about children’s exposure to unfiltered content via mobile phones. He described the material on OTT platforms as indecent and advocated for legal regulation of such content. The RSS reinforced this view on X, highlighting the urgent need for laws to monitor objectionable content inimical to societal values, especially for youngsters.
Bhagwat linked the cultural degradation to both the influence of OTT content and issues like drug addiction, stressing the need to uphold the value of “Maatrivat Paradaareshu,” which emphasizes respect towards women. Citing the R G Kar Hospital rape and murder case in Kolkata, he condemned attempts to shield criminals, pointing to the detrimental alliance of crime and politics.
He lamented the societal neglect of traditional values and called for their revival through family, community, and media outreach, emphasizing the importance of restoring respect and safety for women.
