Stunning Upset: Congress Poised for Epic Victory Over BJP in Haryana 2024 Exit Poll Results
In the Haryana 2024 exit polls, the Congress party is poised to secure a decisive victory over the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). As per the projections from various pollsters, Congress is expected to win a significant number of seats in the 90-seat Assembly, surpassing the 46-seat majority threshold. The C-Voter poll estimates Congress winning 50-58 seats compared to BJP’s 20-28, while Peoples Pulse predicts 49 seats for Congress and 24 for BJP. According to P-Marq, Congress could claim 56 seats, with the BJP taking 31. Dainik Bhaskar forecasts a range of 44-54 for Congress and 19-29 for BJP, whereas DHRUV and Matrize similarly predict a strong lead for Congress.
Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda expressed confidence in returning to power, while BJP’s Nayab Singh Saini remains optimistic about defying the exit poll predictions. This election comes after both parties secured an equal number of seats in the Lok Sabha elections in Haryana.
In the 2019 Haryana elections, BJP formed the government with JJP’s support, winning 40 seats against Congress’s 31. The current election has seen key issues raised, including inflation, unemployment, and grievances over the Agnipath military recruitment scheme, affecting both urban and rural voters. Despite the BJP’s efforts to emphasize governance achievements, the Congress has criticized the ruling party for its stance on reservation and alleged dynastic politics.
With 1,031 candidates, including key figures like CM Nayab Singh Saini (BJP) and BS Hooda (Congress), the election outcome will influence Haryana’s political landscape. The vote counting takes place on October 8 alongside the Jammu & Kashmir elections, determining the future leadership and direction for the state.
