Thrilling Triumph: India’s Powerful Breakthrough in Very Short-Range Air Defence Missile Test at Pokhran | WATCH Now
India successfully conducted three flight tests of a cutting-edge short-range air defense missile system at the Pokhran firing ranges in Rajasthan. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh commended the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Indian Army for their achievements in testing the VSHORADS (Very Short-Range Air Defence System), a state-of-the-art, fourth-generation weapon. Highlighting the significance of these tests, Singh stated that this newly developed missile, featuring modern technological advancements, will significantly enhance the armed forces’ capacity to counter aerial threats.
VSHORADS is a man-portable air defense system that has been indigenously designed and developed by the Research Centre Imarat (RCI) in collaboration with other DRDO laboratories and Indian industry partners. The missile system incorporates innovative technologies, including a miniaturized reaction control system (RCS) and integrated avionics, both of which have been successfully validated during the recent tests, according to a statement from the ministry.
This successful testing marks a significant milestone for India’s defense capabilities, underscoring the country’s ongoing commitment to developing indigenous, technologically advanced weaponry. The success of the VSHORADS system is expected to provide a technological boost to the armed forces, bolstering their ability to defend against aerial threats effectively and efficiently.
