Exciting Boost for Tripura! 60 Unity Malls to Elevate Local Products, Announces CM Manik Saha – Inspiring Northeast News
The Tripura government is set to establish ‘Unity Malls’ across all 60 Assembly constituencies in an effort to boost the marketing and promotion of local products. This initiative, a vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was launched with the laying of the foundation stone for the PM-Unity Mall in Hapania, West Tripura.
Chief Minister Manik Saha emphasized that the project is expected to stimulate economic growth and enhance the market reach of local goods nationwide. Estimated at a cost of Rs 150 crore, the Hapania Unity Mall project is anticipated to be completed within 27 months. It will be built on 4.18 acres and feature a total of 81 stalls, including 45 local stalls, 36 commercial stalls, and stalls representing Tripura’s eight districts.
Saha urged both the local MLA and the wider community to actively monitor the progress and contribute to the project. He underscored the importance of modern facilities within the mall to ensure its sustainability and economic viability. There are plans for broader regional development in tandem with the mall’s completion, with anticipated benefits for local artisans and handicraftsman.
The Chief Minister expressed his vision for each constituency to host unique developmental projects, with the Unity Mall serving as a prototype. The foundation ceremony was attended by notable figures, including Industries and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma, Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Mayor Dipak Majumder, and other key officials.
In related developments, the state government is also introducing app-based cab services at Agartala airport, signaling a comprehensive push towards modernization and infrastructure development in the region. These initiatives underline the administration’s commitment to fostering economic growth and enhancing Tripura’s visibility on a national stage.
