Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Unveil Multiple Projects in Maharashtra Worth Over ₹11,200 Crore
Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will undertake a significant virtual event to lay foundation stones, inaugurate, and dedicate several landmark projects valued at over ₹11,200 crore in Maharashtra.
A highlight of the event is the inauguration of the Pune Metro’s District Court to Swargate section, marking the completion of Phase I of the Pune Metro Rail Project. This vital underground section, costing approximately ₹1,810 crore, will enhance urban transit and connectivity in Pune. Furthermore, the Prime Minister will commence the Swargate-Katraj Extension, a major addition to the metro network with a budget of around ₹2,955 crore.
In a transformative move for industrial development, Prime Minister Modi will dedicate the Bidkin Industrial Area to the nation. Spanning 7,855 acres, this project is part of the National Industrial Corridor Development Program and is located 20 km south of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The Central Government has sanctioned over ₹6,400 crore for its development in three phases, aiming to boost industrial growth and economic prospects.
Additionally, the revamped Solapur Airport will be inaugurated, now equipped to handle over 4 lakh passengers annually, significantly improving the region’s connectivity. Another notable initiative includes laying the foundation stone for a memorial commemorating Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule’s First Girls’ School at Bhidewada, symbolizing a tribute to women’s education and empowerment.
Prime Minister Modi’s interventions today reflect a broad commitment to infrastructure development, urbanization, and heritage preservation, signaling robust growth prospects for Maharashtra.
