Manipur Chief Minister visited the bereaved families of the Sunurok attack victims on Monday, offering condolences to relatives of those who lost their lives in the incident. The visit comes as the community in Sunurok continues to mourn the loss of its members.
The condolence visit assumes significance against the backdrop of Manipur’s prolonged ethnic strife, which has left hundreds of people dead and thousands displaced since it first erupted in May 2023. The attack in Sunurok has once again highlighted the fragile security situation in the northeastern state.
Details of the Chief Minister’s interaction with the grieving families, including any assurances of support or assistance extended to the victims’ relatives, were not immediately available, with further updates awaited.
