Arunachal Pradesh Women and Child Development Minister Dasanglu Pul on Thursday urged departmental officials and frontline workers to ensure that welfare schemes reach women and children in the state’s remotest corners, as the department wrapped up its two-day Chintan Shivir with the State Poshan Award 2026-cum-Review Meeting in Itanagar.

Addressing the concluding session at the D K Convention Centre, Pul congratulated the awardees for delivering essential services at the grassroots level and called upon officials to work with greater dedication to implement the government’s vision for the welfare of women and children.

The Women and Child Development Department organised the programme as part of its Chintan Shivir, during which it reviewed major centrally sponsored schemes, including Mission Vatsalya, Mission Shakti, Saksham Anganwadi and POSHAN 2.0.

Commissioner Mimum Tayeng welcomed the participants and stressed the need for better departmental coordination and improved service delivery. Technical sessions covered nutrition interventions, early childhood care and education, child protection, maternity benefits and support mechanisms for women facing violence and distress.

Sunamoni Kar, State Coordinator of the National e-Governance Division, conducted a training session on the latest features of the Poshan Tracker application, including digital monitoring of home visits, tracking of child developmental milestones, geotagging of Anganwadi Centres and beneficiary verification.

Deputy Director Machi Gao emphasised regular field visits and effective supervision to improve Anganwadi services, while Mission Vatsalya State Nodal Officer Kina Takka spoke on child protection mechanisms, rehabilitation and family-based care. Gyati Loder presented initiatives under POSHAN 2.0, and Mission Shakti State Nodal Officer Bahi Koyu discussed the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, the SHe-Box portal and One Stop Centres.

The programme also honoured outstanding Child Development Project Officers, supervisors and directorate staff for their contributions to departmental programmes. Commendation certificates were presented to officials and staff of ICDS projects in Dirang, Mukto-Bongkhar, Kitpi, Aalo-West, Jang-Thingbu, Bomdila, Roing, Lumla-Zemithang, Namsai, Bordumsa-Diyun and Lekang.

State Poshan Award recipients and Anganwadi workers shared their experiences of implementing nutrition and early childhood care initiatives at the grassroots level, offering insights from the ground for strengthening service delivery.

The two-day Chintan Shivir concluded with an emphasis on improving coordination, accountability and monitoring to strengthen welfare services across Arunachal Pradesh. Department Director Chadan Tangjang proposed the vote of thanks.
