India’s men’s recurve archery team finished its Asian Games campaign with a silver medal after a roller-coaster final against defending champions South Korea, losing five sets to one. Dhiraj Bommadevara, Yashdeep Bhoge and Neeraj Chauhan seized the initiative after Korea’s subdued start but could not sustain their advantage.
The first set was tied 56-56. India recovered after Korea opened with an eight and edged ahead, only for the Koreans to level the score. Lee Woo-seok, Kim Je-deok and Kim Woo-jin then transformed the contest with a dominant second set, winning 57-50.
Korea’s first three arrows of that set all scored maximum 10s, while India’s arrows were scattered across the target and failed to earn a single 10. The Korean team steadily widened its lead as the set progressed.
India remained in contention in the deciding set, but Neeraj Chauhan’s seven with his fourth arrow proved decisive. Korea closed out the 56-54 victory, leaving the Indian trio with silver.
