Assam Agriculture AIF Awareness in Morigaon Empowers Farmers
Assam Agriculture and Irrigation Minister Pijush Hazarika said empowering farmers remains a top priority for the state government as it steps up efforts to improve access to financial support under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF). In a post on X, Hazarika highlighted local outreach aimed at helping growers understand and use the scheme’s benefits.
Hazarika said the Morigaon District Agriculture Department organised a special awareness programme on the AIF to familiarise farmers with the scheme and its potential advantages. The session aimed to explain how eligible growers and producer groups can apply and what kinds of projects the fund supports.
According to the minister, the state government is focusing on enabling farmers to obtain AIF assistance for modernisation and mechanisation, for building agricultural infrastructure, and for activities that add value to farm produce. He stressed that the fund is intended to support practical investments that raise productivity and improve market readiness.
Hazarika urged farmers to take full advantage of the available support and explore opportunities under the AIF to strengthen their agricultural operations. He said better access to finance and modern infrastructure can help build a more productive, profitable and sustainable agriculture sector across Assam.
