G plus, the publication of Insight Brandcom Pvt. Ltd., positions itself as Guwahati’s definitive news voice, declaring: “We LIVE, BREATHE and SLEEP Guwahati!” The outlet frames its mission around the city’s rapid transformation — Guwahati, the capital of Assam and a major port on the banks of the Brahmaputra, is described in the source as being projected to become a smart city by 2025 — and argues that this pace of urban growth demands a dedicated, locally rooted publication that residents can call their own.
The city’s emergence as the urban hub of the Northeast brings expanding infrastructure, economic activity and civic challenges, and the publication presents itself as a response to those changes. By centering local stories, civic reporting and regional development coverage, G plus aims to reflect the concerns and ambitions of Guwahati’s people as the city modernizes and integrates smart-city planning and urban renewal.
Committed to community-focused journalism, the outlet emphasizes accessibility and relevance for readers across the metropolitan area. Its stated approach is to combine close local knowledge with reporting that explains the implications of rapid growth for everyday life — from transport and public services to culture and commerce — so citizens can better understand and engage with the city’s transformation.
