NSCN(K-Angmai) Cadre Arrested in Arunachal; Arms, Ammo Seized
Dibrugarh: Security forces carried out a joint operation on Wednesday evening in the Pangchau area of Longding district in Arunachal Pradesh and arrested an active cadre of the banned insurgent outfit NSCN (K‑Angmai), officials said. The operation resulted in the detention of the individual and the recovery of weapons from the scene.
The arrested person has been identified as SS 2nd Lieutenant Wanglai Wangsa, also known as Laipa Wangsa. Security personnel recovered a semi‑automatic pistol and one magazine during the operation, authorities reported. No further details about additional recoveries or injuries were included in the initial account.
The NSCN (K‑Angmai) faction is listed by authorities as a banned insurgent outfit; operations targeting its cadres form part of ongoing security efforts in parts of Arunachal Pradesh and neighbouring areas.
