Sikkim players Primula Chettri and Pretika Chettri have been named in the North East Zone squad for the Senior Women’s Inter‑Zonal One Day Trophy, which begins on March 5, 2026, in Bengaluru. The 15‑member North East squad was finalised by the North East Zonal Selection Committee at a meeting in Guwahati on February 13, 2026. Selection was based on recent form in national domestic competitions, with both Sikkim players rewarded for strong performances this season.
All‑rounder Primula Chettri earned her place after a standout campaign for Sikkim in the Senior Women’s One Day Trophy (Plate), contributing with both bat and ball. Kikam Bhutia’s appointment as North East Zone women’s head coach marks a milestone: she is the first woman from the North East to clear the BCCI Level B coaching exam and has been a regular on zonal and national assignments.
