Rajpal Yadav Granted Bail: ‘Loved Since Childhood’
Actor Rajpal Yadav was released from Tihar Jail on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, after the Delhi High Court granted him interim bail in a cheque bounce case. The bail, valid until March 18, 2026, was allowed so he can attend his niece’s wedding in Shahjahanpur. The court was informed that a demand draft of Rs 1.5 crore has been submitted on his behalf, and Yadav has been directed to surrender his passport. The next hearing in the matter is scheduled for March 18, 2026.
Speaking to the media after his release, Yadav thanked the public for their support and said people across the country-from children to the elderly-stand with him. He described his long career in film, saying he will soon complete 30 years in Bollywood and that public affection has enabled him to act in roughly 200–250 films. “If you need any legal information, you can ask our lawyer, Mr. Bhaskar,” he told reporters, before adding, “Every child across the country has been with me, and that’s why I was able to do 200–250 films. This journey commenced in 2012–13, and by 2026, I have been a part of around 250 movies.”
Yadav also stressed his record of complying with court orders, saying he has appeared before the High Court whenever required and will continue to do so. “In the last 10 years, whenever the honorable High Court has issued orders, I have appeared, and I will continue to appear whenever further orders are given,” he said.
His lawyer informed the Delhi High Court about the submitted DD and the surrender of the passport as part of the interim bail conditions. The case will return to the court for the scheduled hearing on March 18, 2026.
