Unyielding Tragedy: How Many More Lives Must Be Lost Before the BJP Government Awakens?
AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal has launched a scathing critique of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), claiming the party has significantly deteriorated governance in Delhi within just one year. In a statement shared on X, Kejriwal declared, “The BJP has ruined the entire Delhi in just one year. They do not care about the lives of the people at all,” questioning how many more lives would be lost due to governmental negligence.
The comments from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) come in the wake of a series of tragic incidents that have raised serious concerns about safety and civic administration in the capital. Kejriwal emphasized that the “relentless negligence” of the BJP-led government has had dire consequences for innocent citizens.
Saurabh Bharadwaj, head of AAP in Delhi, highlighted the alarming disparity between two “Delhis.” He stated that while one side of the city is grappling with increasing violence and tragic accidents-like people falling into open drains and pits-the other side is characterized by the Chief Minister’s lighthearted festivities. In a post on X, he questioned, “If this were happening to her own son, would a mother behave like this?”
Bharadwaj further criticized the state of the city’s infrastructure, pointing out that many drains under the Delhi Government and the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) remain unprotected, leading to fatalities. He asserted that the BJP’s governance is linked directly to these tragic occurrences and questioned how long these oversights would persist. “Today, if there is a pit anywhere, it belongs to the BJP. If there is an open drain anywhere, it belongs to the BJP. If a building collapses anywhere, it is the BJP’s responsibility. If a 14-year-old child is murdered while returning from school, that too is the BJP’s responsibility,” he stated.
Amid these serious allegations, the Delhi BJP has yet to respond to AAP’s claims. The ongoing back-and-forth between political factions highlights an increasingly tense political landscape in Delhi, as governance issues and public safety remain pressing concerns for its residents.
As citizens observe these unfolding events, the discourse around governance, accountability, and public welfare continues to evolve in the capital city. The AAP’s unwavering focus on these issues indicates their commitment to holding the BJP accountable for the safety and well-being of Delhi’s residents.
