Transforming Connectivity: Durai Vaiko Celebrates National Planning Group’s Approval for Four-Laning Tiruchi-Karaikudi NH Stretch!
Tiruchirapalli Lok Sabha MP Durai Vaiko announced on Wednesday that the National Planning Group has approved the four-laning of the Tiruchi-Karaikudi national highway stretch. This significant development was confirmed earlier this month and marks a crucial step forward in enhancing regional connectivity.
In a statement, Mr. Durai Vaiko highlighted that the Design Approval for the proposed project has also been secured. He noted that the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is expected to submit a report to the District Collector next month, detailing the extent of land required for the project prior to acquisition. He underscored that a government order will follow the land acquisition process, along with other necessary works, projected to be completed within 18 months.
Additionally, Mr. Durai Vaiko revealed plans to commence construction on a road overbridge at the Karuveppilan railway gate in Pudukottai. He convened a meeting at the Pudukottai district Collectorate, which included Collector M. Aruna and officials from the NHAI, Southern Railway, and State Highways Department, as well as representatives involved in land acquisition. The focus of the meeting was to strategize on minimizing delays and expediting the construction of road overbridges at both the Thiruvappur and Karuveppilan railway gates.
Throughout the discussions, Mr. Durai Vaiko reiterated his persistent advocacy to railway minister and NHAI officials regarding the urgent need for these road overbridges. His aim is to alleviate traffic congestion and facilitate smoother vehicular movement in the area.
