India Gears Up with Full Force to Host the Thrilling 2036 Olympics
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Sunday that India is preparing extensively to host the 2036 Olympic Games. Speaking from the inaugural ceremony of the 72nd National Volleyball Championship via video conference, Modi emphasized India’s significant experience in organizing major international sporting events in recent years. He noted that over 20 global events have taken place across various cities in the last decade, including the U-17 FIFA World Cup, the Hockey World Cup, and numerous chess tournaments.
Modi stated, “The 2030 Commonwealth Games will be held in India. India is preparing with full strength to host the 2036 Olympics.” The volleyball championship, scheduled from January 4 to 11, includes participation from more than 1,000 players representing 58 teams nationwide. According to an official release, the tournament is set to demonstrate high standards of competition, sportsmanship, and talent in Indian volleyball.
The hosting of the National Volleyball Tournament in Varanasi highlights the increasing focus on enhancing sports infrastructure and fostering athletic development in the city. It further elevates Varanasi’s status as a center for significant national events, aligning with its growing role in hosting various cultural and sporting initiatives.
