As 2025 comes to an end, the Naga People’s Front (NPF) has underscored significant political developments while expressing apprehension over recent incidents that threaten religious harmony in various regions of India. In a year-end press release from its headquarters in Kohima, the party conveyed its optimism about consistent progress despite ongoing challenges and reiterated its commitment to the welfare and interests of the Naga community.

The NPF highlighted its merger with the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) as a key accomplishment for the year, noting that this partnership has bolstered regional politics and enhanced unity and stability in governance. The party extended its gratitude to the Naga public, religious leaders, civil society organizations, and supporters for their unwavering encouragement, prayers, and guidance.

However, the NPF expressed disappointment regarding the discontent among the Naga populace in light of US-based evangelist Rev. Franklin Graham being denied a visa for his planned visit to Nagaland. The party also referenced troubling incidents, such as the disruption of church services and vandalism of Christmas decorations across several states, which have raised concerns within the Christian community.

Describing these incidents as sensitive and contrary to the constitutional principles of secularism, mutual respect, and freedom of faith, the NPF urged authorities to take immediate and appropriate measures to protect religious freedom and to foster peace and harmony among different communities. The party affirmed its solidarity with the Christian community and reiterated its commitment to preserving culture, tradition, and faith.

Additionally, the NPF welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s participation in a Christmas service, expressing hope that it signifies genuine respect for all religious beliefs and a dedicated effort to uphold religious freedom nationwide.

Looking forward to 2026, the party renewed its pledge to serve the people with dedication, honesty, and integrity, while sending New Year wishes that the upcoming year brings peace, unity, and progress for all.
