Experience the Rich Tradition of Laikhuta at the Jajori Session by All Assam Goria Jatiya Parishad
A festive and vibrant atmosphere filled the Jajori Regional Sports Association playground on Sunday, December 28, as the All Assam Goria Jatiya Parishad launched preparations for its upcoming five-yearly Jajori session with the ceremonial installation of the Laikhuta, or foundation pillar. This significant event marks the beginning of the preparatory phase for the session, which will take place at the Jajori Regional Playground, situated along the Morigaon-Nagaon district border. The installation program drew enthusiastic participation from party members as well as local residents.
The gathering included office-bearers and representatives from Morigaon, Nagaon, Guwahati, and other districts, showcasing a broad support network. The program kicked off with a felicitation ceremony, followed by a captivating cultural segment featuring a poetry recitation by a young child that charmed the audience.
During his address, the President of the Central Committee of the All Assam Goria Jatiya Parishad expressed gratitude to everyone present and acknowledged the dedication of party workers and committee members. He provided insights into why Jajori was chosen as the venue for the five-yearly session, emphasizing its strategic and cultural importance.
The event concluded with an engaging traditional Bihu dance performance, further enriching the celebratory atmosphere. Hundreds of residents from the Morigaon-Nagaon border region attended, highlighting strong grassroots support for the event. Notably, nearly a hundred individuals participated in the inaugural Laikhuta installation ceremony, exemplifying the excitement surrounding the upcoming five-yearly session.
