A youth from Rangia, Assam, has been detained by police for allegedly sharing a controversial video on social media that supports the killing of a Hindu youth in Bangladesh. The accused, identified as Mohammad Shaif Akhtar Ali, resides in Ward No. 3 in Rangia. Reports indicate that the video was circulated through Facebook and Instagram accounts under the name “BOLLO CHAIWALA.”
Following the video’s circulation, which sparked public concern due to its sensitive nature, authorities acted quickly and took the youth into custody for questioning. The police are currently examining the video’s content along with the associated social media accounts as part of an ongoing investigation.
Further legal action will be determined based on the investigation’s findings, according to police officials. In the meantime, authorities have urged the public to exercise restraint and avoid sharing or promoting content that could disrupt communal harmony.
