The Ramkrishna Mission in Viveknagar, Tripura, will introduce foreign language courses starting in the next academic year, as announced by Chief Minister Manik Saha on December 22. This initiative represents a significant expansion of the Mission’s academic programs.
During an event at the Ramkrishna Mission, Saha revealed that he received a formal proposal to offer foreign languages from Swami Suvirananda, the General Secretary of Ramkrishna Math and Ramkrishna Mission in Kolkata, which has since received approval. The Chief Minister emphasized that this initiative aims to enhance students’ global exposure while reinforcing their academic foundations.
Currently, the Ramkrishna Mission operates a CBSE-affiliated higher secondary school, recognized as a cyber-smart school by NITI Aayog and celebrated as an exemplary institution by the state’s education department. Saha indicated that the proposed language offerings may include Japanese, Chinese, and Spanish, among others.
The new courses are expected to commence at Viveknagar next year, reflecting the Mission’s commitment to providing holistic and forward-thinking education. Saha commended the Ramkrishna Mission for its long-standing dedication to delivering quality, value-based education and cultivating socially responsible, disciplined citizens.
Earlier that day, Saha also presented a Rotary Mobile Dental Clinic to the Mission. This mobile unit, valued at ₹60 lakh and provided by the Rotary Club, is equipped with modern facilities to address dental health needs and is intended to improve access to dental care in remote and underserved regions of the state.
The event was attended by senior officials, representatives from the Ramkrishna Mission, and members of the Rotary Club, highlighting a collaborative effort towards advancing education and public health initiatives in Tripura.
