The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced plans to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the patriotic song “Vande Mataram” with special programmes across 150 locations nationwide this Friday. During a press conference in New Delhi, BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh revealed that the Union Cabinet has decided to officially celebrate this milestone as a festival.
Chugh indicated that the BJP will host multiple singing events dedicated to “Vande Mataram” leading up to Constitution Day, which is celebrated on the 26th of this month. He emphasized that the song has evolved into a powerful symbol of nationalism, unity, and the shared determination to resist British colonial rule.
