Delhi showcased the vibrant cultural heritage of Nagaland on October 24, as the two-day Autumn Festival 2025 commenced at Nagaland House. Organized by the Department of Tourism, Government of Nagaland, the festival features traditional music, dance, handicrafts, and cuisine, allowing attendees to explore the state’s rich traditions.
The event was inaugurated by Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra, who also unveiled the Artisans’ Corner and traditional stalls that displayed handmade crafts, Naga attire, and local delicacies made by tribal artisans. The opening ceremony attracted Union Minister Jitendra Singh, as well as diplomats and senior officials.
Mishra emphasized the growing cultural bond between Delhi and Nagaland, describing the festival as a reflection of their longstanding ties. He proposed extending such events beyond Nagaland House to larger venues, including Delhi University campuses and Central Park. Furthermore, he announced plans to collaborate with the Delhi Tourism Department to create a dedicated annual Naga Culture Festival.
Nagaland’s Tourism Minister Temjen Imna Along stated that the festival allows residents of Delhi to experience the state’s heritage firsthand and serves as a precursor to the 26th Hornbill Festival, set to take place from December 1 to 10. He also highlighted efforts to simplify the Inner Line Permit process for tourists and establish special helpline centers at Nagaland Houses in Delhi, Kolkata, and Guwahati.
Abu Metha, chairman of the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland, underscored the importance of enhancing tourism and investment cooperation between Delhi and Nagaland.
The Autumn Festival 2025 immerses visitors in the lively crafts, textiles, music, and cuisine of Nagaland, bringing the essence of Northeast India to Delhi and reinforcing the message of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.”
