SIT Team Departing for Singapore to Investigate Zubeen Garg’s Mysterious Death
In a significant development regarding the investigation into the mysterious death of renowned music icon Zubeen Garg, a two-member team from the Special Investigation Team (SIT) is set to depart for Singapore today, October 20. The team, led by Munna Prasad Gupta, Special DGP (CID), alongside investigating officer Tarun Goel, will first fly to Kolkata at 8:30 PM before continuing on to Singapore.
The SIT’s mission includes conducting an on-the-ground investigation to retrace Zubeen’s movements and verify the sequence of events that occurred during his time in Singapore. They will collaborate with local police authorities and inspect locations connected to the late singer’s visit. Additionally, the team aims to investigate possible electronic and financial trails, gather pertinent documentary or CCTV evidence, and question individuals who were believed to have interacted with Zubeen while abroad.
Earlier, ten Assamese expatriates residing in Singapore provided crucial information that may help clarify the circumstances surrounding Zubeen’s final international trip. Their cooperation has reportedly assisted investigators in identifying key contacts and engagements that could shed light on the events leading up to the singer’s untimely death.
Alongside the Singapore investigation, sources indicate that the SIT will conduct parallel interrogations in India. Wajid Ahmed, a Singapore citizen, along with two yacht crew members linked to the case, will also be questioned to clarify certain suspicious connections and communications.
This development unfolds amid increasing public pressure and emotional calls for justice, as fans and admirers across Assam continue to demand transparency and accountability in the inquiry. The SIT is expected to submit a comprehensive report to the Assam government upon their return.
