Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on October 12 that the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has uncovered a “definite angle” in the ongoing investigation into the death of singer Zubeen Garg, following the receipt of the viscera report. Speaking during a Facebook Live session, Sarma disclosed that four more Assamese expatriates, who reportedly witnessed Garg’s final moments, are scheduled to arrive in Guwahati on Monday to provide their statements to the CID.
“The Central Forensic Laboratory in Delhi has delivered the viscera report. I am pleased to confirm that the CID now has a clearer direction in the case. In the coming days, we will present the complete chronology of Zubeen Garg’s death before the court,” he stated.
Zubeen Garg, a renowned singer, tragically passed away in Singapore on September 19 while swimming. He had traveled to Singapore to participate in the fourth edition of the North East India Festival. After his post-mortem examination at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, his viscera sample was sent to the Central Forensic Laboratory for thorough analysis.
