PM Modi Celebrates RSS Centenary, Highlights Service to Nation and Society
Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the centenary celebrations of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in New Delhi today. The event emphasized the RSS’s legacy, its cultural contributions, and its significant role in promoting national unity. In his speech, Modi stated that the establishment of the RSS 100 years ago was not merely a coincidence but a revival of a tradition that has endured for thousands of years, reinforcing its ongoing commitment to nation-building.
Modi praised RSS volunteers for their unwavering dedication to national service and societal empowerment. He recalled their participation in the Republic Day parade in 1963, highlighting their historical contributions. During the ceremony, he also unveiled a commemorative postage stamp and coin that celebrate the organization’s impact on the nation.
As a prelude to Vijayadashmi tomorrow, Modi remarked that the festival symbolizes the triumph of good over evil, justice over injustice, truth over falsehood, and light over darkness.
Union Minister for Culture Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, speaking at the event, noted that the RSS has inspired a spirit of nation-building and cultural consciousness among citizens. He emphasized that the organization’s efforts are visible across every corner of the country. RSS Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale echoed this sentiment, stating that society recognizes the diverse initiatives undertaken by the RSS. He added that the organization’s volunteers are actively engaged in various activities related to social development, national security, and welfare, fostering community bonds.
