Gopinath Dev Goswami Commerce College Celebrates Milestone 42nd Foundation Day!
Gopinath Dev Goswami Commerce College in Nagaon, a prominent center for commerce education in Central Assam, commemorated its 42nd foundation day on Wednesday with various events. The day’s activities commenced with a condolence meeting honoring the late iconic singer Zubeen Garg.
The college’s flag was raised by Pradip Kumar Borah, the President of the college governing body. Following this, floral tributes were paid to the statue of Gopinath Dev Goswami. The ceremony included the lighting of lamps and floral offerings to the statues of the Founding Principal, Kamal Chandra Goswami, and the Founding President, Ratna Kant Borah.
Principal Dr. Mriganka Saikia officially inaugurated the foundation day celebrations. The event concluded with the launch of the college wall magazine, ‘Ratna Kamal,’ unveiled by retired professor Dr. PKD Purakayastha. Senior faculty member Biju Mani Pathak coordinated the entire program.
Notable attendees included advocate Nava Goswami from the college’s donor family, retired Principal Gunadhar Gogoi, and retired professors Dr. Prafulla Saikia and Zahirul Islam Pathan. The college’s Vice-Principal, Umeshwar Saikia, along with faculty members, students, and staff, were also present.
As part of the celebrations, an evening program was held featuring the lighting of 42 lamps, officially inaugurated by retired employees Naresh Chandra Sarma and Tularam Baidya.
