Long queues formed outside the newly opened Apple store in Hebbal, Bengaluru, as eager customers lined up to purchase the highly anticipated iPhone 17 series on Friday, September 19. The store, located in the Mall of Asia, has quickly become a hotspot for tech enthusiasts since its launch.
Customers began arriving early in the morning, excited to get their hands on not only the iPhone 17 but also the latest offerings, including the Apple Watch and AirPods. This year, Apple has introduced significant design changes for the iPhone 17, a move that many users had been eagerly awaiting, potentially making it more desirable than its predecessors.
Similar scenes unfolded at other Apple locations across India, including the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) store in Mumbai and the Select Citywalk Mall in Delhi, where customers also experienced lengthy waits. Reports indicate that a scuffle broke out at the BKC store amid the rush.
Mohammad Suhail, one of the customers who successfully purchased the iPhone 17, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “It’s nice to have a store in Bengaluru.” He mentioned that he had been a loyal customer for years and that this year’s model felt markedly improved compared to the last three iterations. “We are very excited. The service is very nice… I have been waiting since last week. We booked four phones,” he added.
Apple’s entry into Bengaluru marks a significant expansion into South India, with this being the company’s third retail location in India. The first store opened on September 2. In Mumbai, another early customer recounted standing in line since 3 AM, having traveled from Jogeshwari, eagerly anticipating the new device for the past six months.
The newly unveiled iPhone 17 series is priced between ₹82,900 and ₹2,29,900, and it officially became available for purchase on September 19 for both pre-booked and walk-in customers, promising a mix of innovative features and high demand in the market.
