Transforming Tourist Destinations: How the Government is Boosting Development
Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha announced today that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Tripura on September 22 to inaugurate the redevelopment and beautification of the Mata Tripurasundari temple. This announcement was made during his address at the closing ceremony of the Neermahal Jal Utsav held in Melaghar, where he emphasized the state government’s commitment to enhancing all tourist destinations across Tripura.
Dr. Saha stated, “Replicas of all 51 Shakti Peeths are being constructed at Bandower in Gomati district at a cost of Rs 97 crore. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is arriving on September 22 to inaugurate the redevelopment and beautification of the Mata Tripurasundari temple. I have written to him, and he is coming. He will also offer puja.” He noted the significance of this moment as the program has been ongoing for the past three days.
Highlighting Neermahal’s unique appeal, Dr. Saha remarked, “You will not find a palace like Neermahal anywhere else. We are working to publicize Neermahal among the people, as many are still unaware of it. With social media’s reach, it is essential to promote the culture and traditions of Neermahal so that more people become aware. Increased visits will boost the local economy. Neermahal, established by Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore, embodies a blend of cultures. This is truly a beautiful spot, and we take pride in it.”
Additionally, he revealed that under the Swadesh Darshan scheme, the government plans to further develop the Raj Ghat of Neermahal. “PM Modi is focused on preserving our rich culture and traditions. In the North East zone, we rank second highest in per capita GDP. We are dedicated to advancing rural development and must unite to achieve Ek Tripura, Shrestha Tripura,” he added.
The event was attended by Higher Education Minister Kishor Barman, Sepahijala Sabhadhipati Supriya Das Datta, MLA Taffazal Hossain, District Magistrate Dr. Sidharth Shiv Jaiswal, SP Bijoy Debbarma, and other dignitaries.
