The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall tomorrow in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, with isolated instances of extremely heavy rainfall also expected. The IMD has further predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in various areas including East Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Odisha, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh over the next two days.
In addition, regions in Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Kerala, Mahe, Konkan, and Goa are set to experience heavy rainfall until the 3rd of next month. Northern parts of India can also anticipate similar weather conditions for the next five days. The weather department has warned of thunderstorms, along with lightning and gusty winds, in isolated locations across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
