Explore the Wonders of Space: National Space Day at Shillong Science Centre!
Shillong: The Shillong Science Centre (SSC) has launched its PULSE (Promoting Understanding and Learning in Science Education) program ahead of National Space Day, to be celebrated from August 18 to August 23. This initiative by the Meghalaya government aims to enhance science education among students.
The program will engage 96 students from three schools: Syndong Secondary Karhadem, Kynjoin Umran Presbyterian Upper Primary, and Ka Phan Nonglait Memorial School, through interactive sessions and practical workshops. Topics will include the solar system, the science behind seasons, auroras, and other celestial phenomena. There will also be discussions on India’s space exploration efforts, particularly focusing on the recent Chandrayaan-3 mission.
Students will learn about significant components of space exploration such as the Orbiter, Vikram Lander, and Pragyan Rover. The program will enhance students’ understanding of various scientific fields, including Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Artificial Intelligence, and Robotics. It will also delve into ISRO’s upcoming missions slated for 2028.
The program, which serves as a preliminary celebration for Space Day, is designed to inspire and educate young learners about the vast possibilities within the realm of science and space exploration. The final event will take place on August 23, marking a significant occasion for the participants and the broader scientific community.
