Strengthening Roots: Guv Parnaik Inspires Priests to Unite Heritage and Progress
Arunachal Pradesh Governor KT Parnaik has called on indigenous priests to maintain their traditional practices while also adapting them to modern circumstances. In a meeting held at Raj Bhavan on Friday, which was attended by indigenous priests led by Nangram Kani, Parnaik emphasized the importance of ensuring that rituals are both meaningful and guided by scientific reasoning. This approach aims to ensure that these practices continue to benefit society in a relevant manner.
During the discussion, the governor listened to the various challenges faced by the priests and explored potential avenues for promoting and preserving cultural heritage. Parnaik highlighted the need to safeguard tribal heritage, advocating for the systematic documentation of indigenous rituals and practices. He believes that such initiatives are crucial for preserving these traditions for future generations. “These efforts will not only protect the richness of tribal customs but also strengthen community identity in the face of rapid modernization,” he stated.
