These emails have raised alarms among authorities and school officials alike, as they include a number of well-known educational institutions in their threats. This follows an incident on August 18, when similar threats were sent to 32 schools, which were later deemed false alarms. In response to the recent threats, schools have intensified their investigations, conducting thorough searches to verify the authenticity of these communications.
The emails sent by ‘Terrorizers 111’ claim that the group has hacked the schools’ IT systems and planted explosives, including high-yield C4 bombs, in various locations such as classrooms, auditoriums, and even school buses. They demand a payment of $2,000 within 48 hours to an Ethereum address, threatening that any attempts to reach authorities would result in detonation and the release of sensitive data. The alarming message urges immediate evacuation of all schools to prevent loss of life, stating, “Terrorizers 111 Group does not forgive or forget. Payment is your only option to prevent disaster. Act now.”
Among the affected schools are prominent institutions such as DAV Public School, Faith Academy, Doon Public School, Sarvodaya Vidyalaya, and Maxfort School in Dwarka, as well as SKV in Malviya Nagar and Andhra School in Prasad Nagar. The Delhi Fire Services confirmed that the initial reports of bomb threats came at 7:40 AM and 7:42 AM from SKV and Andhra School, respectively. Despite the false alarms that occurred earlier, police are diligently investigating the situation to ensure the safety of students and staff.
The school administrations and local authorities are taking these threats seriously, with ongoing efforts to secure the campuses and assess the credibility of the reported bomb threats.
