Tragic Accident in Delhi: Thar Strikes Biker, One Dead
A man was tragically killed after his motorcycle was struck by a Thar vehicle in the Moti Nagar area of West Delhi during the night between Friday and Saturday. The victim has been identified as Bechu Lal, who was riding the motorcycle at the time of the collision. According to police reports, the driver of the Thar fled the scene following the accident, abandoning the vehicle as well as the victim. In footage captured from the car’s interior post-accident, a vodka bottle can be seen resting on the driver’s seat.
Authorities confirmed that a case has been registered at the Moti Nagar police station. They have formed multiple teams to locate and apprehend the driver who absconded, and legal action is currently underway.
This incident is part of a troubling trend of road accidents in the area. On August 11, three young men lost their lives when their scooter collided with a car on the Dwarka Urban Expressway, following reports that they were riding without helmets and against traffic rules. Just a week earlier, on August 4, a 25-year-old man named Deepak died when his motorcycle was hit by a speeding car on Feroz Shah Road; the driver was later arrested. In a separate incident on the same day, a Zepto delivery boy was killed by an SUV allegedly driven recklessly in Nelson Mandela Marg, while a 62-year-old woman in Dakshinpuri died after being struck by an auto-rickshaw.
In July, two young students tragically lost their lives in a road accident near Pusa Chambery when their motorcycle collided with a truck that subsequently fled the scene, preventing police from capturing its registration number.
As authorities respond to these incidents, the ongoing concerns about road safety and reckless driving continue to resonate within the community.
