A tragic incident has occurred at the Humayun’s Tomb complex in Delhi, resulting in the deaths of five individuals when a portion of the mausoleum’s wall collapsed. According to police sources, there are concerns that seven more people may be trapped beneath the debris.
Local officials report that a section of the wall at the Shah Jahan Gate within the complex suddenly gave way, trapping numerous people under the wreckage.
The Delhi Fire Service received a call about the incident around 3:51 AM. Emergency services, including police and firefighting units, quickly arrived at the scene to manage the situation.
Recent updates indicate that eleven people have been rescued alive from the site. A team from the National Disaster Response Force is also present, continuing efforts to locate and rescue anyone still believed to be trapped under the rubble.
Local authorities have noted that the continuous rainfall in Delhi has significantly increased the risk of such accidents occurring.
