Shareholders of Tata Sons, the key holding company of the Tata Group, unanimously approved all six resolutions during their annual general meeting (AGM) on Thursday, including the appointment of Noel N. Tata as a director. The virtual AGM was characterized by a positive atmosphere, with unanimous support for each resolution across both ordinary and special business categories, according to reports from PTI.
Among the notable decisions was the appointment of Noel N. Tata, currently the Chairman of Tata Trusts, as an Additional Director effective October 22, 2024, following the death of Ratan Tata. “His appointment and all other resolutions were unanimously passed. The Shapoorji Pallonji Group also supported all proposals. These are promising times for the Tata Group,” said a source.
Key decisions at the AGM included the reappointment of Venu Srinivasan, the Chairman Emeritus of TVS Motor Company, as a Director of Tata Sons. Additionally, shareholders approved a dividend declaration on both preference and ordinary shares for the financial year 2024-25. The annual report revealed that directors recommended a dividend of ₹64,900 per share on 404,146 ordinary shares, a notable increase from ₹35,000 in the previous fiscal year. They also recommended a dividend on cumulative redeemable preference shares totaling ₹13 lakh for 2024-25, compared to ₹19.78 crore from the prior fiscal.
Another significant resolution was the appointment of Anita Marangoly George as a director, effective July 12, 2025. Furthermore, the reappointment of Saurabh Agrawal as a director was also unanimously approved, alongside the standalone and consolidated financial statements of the company, as reported by sources.
