Shocking Vote Fraud Allegations Surface in Karnataka’s 2024 LS Elections

In a significant press conference on August 7, Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, accused the Election Commission (EC) of complicity with the BJP in committing large-scale electoral fraud during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, particularly in Karnataka’s Mahadevapura Assembly segment. He asserted that this alleged fraud is occurring nationwide. Gandhi presented data from a six-month investigation involving a team of 30-40 individuals, claiming that voter rolls had been manipulated to enable voter theft and suppress scrutiny.

According to Gandhi, the Congress party received 626,208 votes in Bangalore Central, while the BJP garnered 658,915 votes, resulting in a margin of 32,707. However, further examination revealed stark discrepancies within the Mahadevapura Assembly segment. Here, the BJP reportedly secured 229,632 votes against Congress’s 115,586, creating a staggering gap of 114,046 votes. Gandhi alleged that at least 100,250 votes were illicitly obtained in this segment alone.

Gandhi highlighted issues including duplicate voters, with 11,965 entries found duplicated across various booths and states. He cited names like Gurkirat Singh and Aditya Shrivastava, whose names appeared multiple times, often in different locations-Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh. Additionally, he raised concerns over 40,009 voter entries linked to fake or nonexistent addresses, including absurd entries like “house number 0” or nonsensical symbols.

The Congress leader pointed to instances of mass voter registration at single addresses, noting that one residence had 80 registered voters in a small room, while another, a brewery, was reported to host 68 voters. This raised serious questions about the legitimacy of these registrations. When Congress representatives attempted to verify the addresses, they faced hostility and were told that no such individuals resided there.

Gandhi also mentioned 4,132 invalid voter entries that lacked identifiable photographs, along with 33,629 instances of misuse of Form 6. He asserted that the EC’s refusal to provide soft copies of voter rolls or to allow proper audits stemmed from a desire to conceal wrongdoing, including the alleged destruction of CCTV footage.

“This goes beyond a local issue; what transpired in Mahadevapura reflects a national problem,” Gandhi declared. He suggested that Prime Minister Modi only needed to win 25 seats to remain in power, noting that the BJP clinched these seats with margins under 33,000 votes. Therefore, he concluded, the EC is concealing data to protect a crime rather than uphold democratic values.
